So you’re thinking about buying an EV? Whether you are an individual, or part of a fleet, we have information and resources to help in your
purchasing decision.
Individuals
Are you looking for a personal vehicle? Electric For All and US News and World Report both have good general overviews, while Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds Car Guide have specific information, and you can research specific cars on their sites. Another excellent resource is MotorTrend Magazine, which has a list of every EV car, truck, and SUV available on the market. They also have a dedicated page that lists their EV reviews.
Both individuals and fleets should check out our Tax Credits page for links to the latest incentives for EVs.
Fleets
Both Maryland and DC have specific incentives for fleet purchases. The Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Communities website, has a page dedicated specifically to fleets. Our own Business Resources page is an excellent source for all aspects of EV purchases.
Dealerships
While there are a variety of dealerships selling EVs in the DMV area, Drive Electric has preferred dealerships that we work with. Our partnership works as follows:
- Inclusion in the Drive Electric USA preferred dealers listing on the official program
website. - Designation of one or more internal EV “specialists” to serve as primary points of
contact. - Loan of current EV inventory information for promotional and educational use.
- Availability to participate in future community outreach and EV showcase events hosted
by GWRCCC and program partners.
We ask that dealers identify their specialist staff responsible for EV sales and education. These
specialists will collaborate with Drive Electric DC and GWRCCC staff in public engagement efforts, including ride-and-
drive events, community showcases, and EV educational initiatives.
